These fantastic illustrations are vintage educational charts, I found them on Three Potato Four, one of my favourite websites to browse. They remind me of Miroslav Sasek.

Martha of "Q is for Quilter" documents the scraps of vintage fabric she finds before she uses them in her quilts. Her blog is a fantastic source of inspiration for print design and graphics. The wonderful unique and retro feel of these fabrics makes me thoroughly jealous of Martha's fabric collection!

The Textile Society - New Events

Loads of new events have been added to the Textile Society's 2011 program. Temporium

In the lead up to Christmas, Dezeen (an inspiring design blog/magazine) opened a wonderful pop ip shop, apply named The Temporium, it was open only for two weeks. Located on the Brompton Road, London the store had some intriguing designers exhibiting and selling their work.

Highlights included Shan Valla bird cermic milk bottles with gold finch stopper. 'Inspired by birds drinking from milkbottles delivered to homes, a sight that has become rare over time. Lee Broom's quirky and decadent lighting also caught my eye. Each light is made from a lead crystal drinks decanter sourced from antique markets and vintage shops. http://www.leebroom.com/

Textile Society's Antique and Vintage Textiles

The first London TS Antique Textile Fair when down a storm! We were delighted that we had such positive feedback about the event and that so many of you asked if we will be repeating the fair in London in the future. We think the answer must be, ‘watch this space’! A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially Kay, whos hard work made it all happen!

running 18 years the society is holding it's first fair in London. I'll be there!

Margate Treasure Trove

Scott's of Margate is one of my favourite places in Britain! My friend Zoe introduced it to me and I have since found myself lost among its antique furniture, bric a brac, retro ornaments and paper ephemera, many times.

Here are some of the treasures I bought on my last visit- I adore the retro knitting and needle craft magazines! The illustrations and photographs are so nostalgic.
